Ghostbusters (2016)
What can I say? I have a thing for Kate McKinnon. I especially have a thing for Kate McKinnon-as-a-mad-scientist vibes. But really tho I would love pretty much anything with this as a source.

The Miseducation of Cameron Post (2018)
Every single person I know in real life has heard me wax lyrical about this book/movie, so I'm not really sure what to say. I LOVE this and highly recommend it, and much of it is very pretty and arresting. But fair warning that it's about a conversion therapy camp and there are explicit mentions of self-harming.

Bright Summer Night
Honestly, I just cannot stop with the obscure New Zealand content. I highly recommend the Candle Wasters stuff if you a) want to be painfully reminded of your awkward late teen years, or b) you like queer adaptations of Shakespeare. Bright Summer Night is far and away the most gorgeous of their webseries (probably bc they actually finally got government funding hahaha) and comes in at around 80 minutes total, so it's a super easy watch. Honestly, just try out the first episode. They have a YouTube playlist that includes a content warning episode.

Sharp Objects
This show is so fucking gorgeous. Not really into the Amma/Camille vibe that seems to permeate a lot of the fan content for this, I just think this is a gorgeous TV series with a lot of potential for vidding. I've been nursing a secret desire to do a trilogy of Lorde vids for Sharp Objects, and I think there are at least seven Lorde songs that VIBE with this, so take from that what you will.

Charlie's Angels (2019)
I just like lady scientists, even if the science makes absolutely no sense. I've always thought the movie was visually very much a rip off of The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018), so potentially a vid with both sources could work?

Maddigan's Quest (TV)
This is a purely nostalgic nom. Maddigan's Quest is a niche NZ TV series (for children/tweens) featuring a very young Rose McIver and the iconic Rachel House. It's set in a post-apocalyptic New Zealand and it's really pretty with a lovely soundtrack. Highly recommend for an escapist watch in the vein of Malory Towers or The Baby-Sitters Club.

Saturday Night Live
I KNOW this is a weird nom lmao. As above, I just really like Kate McKinnon.
I was thinking about vidding this myself and I had vague thoughts of something like a summary/homage of a particular genre of sketches, like the commercial parodies, the political impressions, the teen girl sketches, or something like that. In particular, I was thinking about doing a "women of SNL doing political impressions" vid or "all of Kate McKinnon's political impressions" vid.
I've been watching sporadically since Lonely Island started (2007ish I think) and consistently since 2014 so would love something pulling from those times (the more recent seasons are probably easiest to get your hands on anyway).

Falling Inn Love (2019)
I love to hate-watch this for all the ridiculous stereotypes it has - firstly, as IF any small New Zealand town would be that nice to someone who randomly moved there and was snooty to "the most eligible bachelor"; secondly, the dude is CLEARLY and HEAVILY Australian and they try to explain that with "spent a few years at uni in Australia"???? etc on and on.
This movie, as a romcom, really lends itself to a shipping vid, so I'm not opposed to that at all. But if by chance you are also a Kiwi who enjoys the ridiculousness of this movie, something tongue-in-cheek about NZ stereotypes would also be bangin'.

Thank you and have fun! :)
